Email from a Parent…

I just wanted to take the time to write a short note about how wonderful ACA has been for our family. We moved to Gainesville in July from Michigan and knew nothing about the city or the schools/daycares. We went to a few other businesses that offered VPK before going to A Child’s Academy for a tour. Upon walking onto the grounds we felt nothing but happiness and comfort. We were greeted by a smiling face and shown where to go to speak to someone about a tour. ACA offers so many flexible programs for parents with many enrichment programs. Our daughter is signing, speaking Spanish, and naming parts of the English language at the age of 4 like I have never heard from any child. She is excited to come to school every day just to learn more Spanish and sign. ACA was able to tell us about various organizations in the city, programs offered by schools and businesses, names of doctors, and so much more. We love our teachers and staff at ACA.

Thank you for all that you have done. You really make getting up in the mornings more enjoyable when I see how excited Charlotte is to go to school and learn and play. You are truly amazing, the whole staff!!

Email from a Parent…

This might be an appropriate time to thank her then, along with you and the entire staff at your wonderful school.

You have all profoundly impacted the development of our daughter and I am certain she will remember you all for a very long time.   As will Kim and I.

It will be sad for our daughter(and us) when she moves along to kindergarten but she has been so well prepared that we haven’t wasted a moment of worry.

Kim and I both attribute much of her positive, loving attitude to what she has learned at ACA.

Good bless all of you.

ACA Goes Above and Beyond what we have ever found in any other childcare facility…

Debra & Jamie Hope, Gainesville, FL

“We came to ACA under very urgent and special circumstances, having to identify daycare within a 24 hour window, for two little guys, 18 months and 3 years….from my first call to ACA, Miss Pat, opened her arms, literally, to our family and our unique situation…giving countless hugs, drying our tears, and providing sincere words of encouragement when those transition times were the toughest. It was a prayer answered to be able to place our little ones in a Christian childcare facility, and now 3 years later our prayers have been answered ten-fold with the compassionate care, dedication, consistency and excellent academic program in place at ACA. The entire staff, from office to classroom and afterschool go above and beyond what we have ever found in any other childcare facility. We have grown from our little guys screaming each morning when being left for the first time in their lives in a daycare facility to struggling to get them in the car in the afternoons because they do not want to leave ! We have heard countless other parents describing the same scenario with their little ones. We know our boys are in a home away from home when they are at ACA.”

Once I Saw My Daughter was in Nurturing Hands, I was able to let go of my Anxiety…

Maisha & Joseph Larkin, Gainesville, FL

“A Child’s Academy is where our child receives the same love and attention we continually give to her each day. The Christian concept of love is evident through the staff by the unity and acceptance of all cultures displayed in their learning rooms. My child will learn all the schooling basics for pre-k as well as education about kids who may look different than her. She freely learns, sings, eats, sleeps and plays, in a secure environment that is reinforced by professional caring individuals. As a first time Mom when we entered our child in day care, I had a great deal of anxiety. At ACA I was understood with compassion and invited to watch her class through the office cam. Once I saw she was in nurturing hands, I was able to let go of my anxiety.. Our daughters favorite thing is playing in the huge castle playground that unlocks her imagination and creative play with her peers. She enjoys reiterating all the new things that she says her “teacher” has taught her.”

ACA was such a Great Environment and Katie was so Happy we Never left…

Sara & James Mock, Gainesville, FL

“Our daughter, Katie, has been at A Child’s Academy since she was three months old. We originally planned to have her there for one year until she was old enough to transition to the school that her older brother attended. However, it was such a great environment and Katie was so happy there that we never left! She has now been at ACA for almost four years. Katie has adored her teachers; they have been so attentive and have really helped Katie to learn and grow. Before she could talk, her teachers taught her some basic sign language to help her communicate a few key words. As she got a little older, Katie quickly learned all of her numbers and letters and now loves pointing out numbers and letters on signs and notes and billboards wherever we go. She frequently comes home and shares interesting facts that she learned about animals, different states and countries, or even famous people. The first time I heard my little three-year-old come home and tell me about Martin Luther King, Jr., I was so impressed! I attribute this to the great focus on learning in her classroom. There are even occasional “homework” assignments, which Katie loves because it makes her feel like she is such a big girl. We will be sad when it’s time for her to “graduate” and move on to elementary school, because we have really enjoyed our experience at A Child’s Academy.”

We have been able to see a Marked difference between the two schools and the Teachers ACA employs…

Don and Karen Bailey (Jarrett, 4 & Mackenzy, almost 3) Gainesville, FL

“We ended up moving our children from a daycare that closed and that they and their older brother had attended from about 7 months old. They have been there for a little over a year now and we could not stop boasting about how wonderful they are doing! They are thriving, unbelievably well. We have been able to see a marked difference between the two schools and the teachers that they employ. My children love Miss Anna and Miss Liz. They take such good care of them and are very helpful and loving when it comes to dropping them off in the morning and the separation anxiety (sometimes) kicks in. Thank you so much ACA!!!”

We are thrilled with what Elena has learned there, both Academically and Emotionally…

Soraya Sus & Youssef, Gainesville, FL

“Since Elena started going to ACA, first thing every morning she asks me to please dress her as she wants to go to school. When we pick her up, she is always happy; it takes her a while to get to the car. She loves when Mrs. Sandra does her hair, cannot stop asking her Daddy if he likes the hair-do Mrs. Sandra did for her.

We are thrilled with how much she has learnt there, both academically and emotionally. We do not speak English with Elena at home. And since she joined ACA, her English has improved dramatically. She now knows how to count very well and she responds very well to people addressing her in English. In addition, she is a more patient and respectful playmate with her little sister.

Aaya, our 20-month-old, goes there occasionally. Every day when we take Elena to school, it is hard to make her understand that she cannot stay. It has become a ritual for her to go get her treat – a yummy cheese cracker. She knows exactly where Mrs. Pat keeps them ;o)!

We are very pleased that both of our girls feel happy and loved in their School”

I am confident my daughter, Anna, is prepared for Kindergarten…

Wendy & David Davis, Gainesville, FL

“What I like best about the child care experience at A Child’s Academy is that teachers are dedicated and consistent with the pre-school curriculum. I am confident my daughter, Anna is prepared for Kindergarten. My favorite part of my child’s day with A Child’s Academy is the morning in which the classroom is learning to recite our National Anthem. Also, I am appreciative the students are learning to sing the Star-Spangled Banner and America, the Beautiful. I believe my child, Anna is learning the value of our rich American culture that will remain as she matures and continues her education. School Readiness (Kindergarten) is the greatest benefit Anna is receiving by being enrolled at A Child’s Academy(ACA). I am confident that Anna will be prepared for Kindergarten. I am so pleased that the teacher always has control of the classroom. Students have learned to respect the classroom as a learning environment. I would certainly recommend ACA to new parents. The teachers are competent and experienced. I believe by enrolling my child in the ACA pre-school program my child will have a better future.”

The cheerful and helpful attitude of Ms. Pat and Ms. Heather makes the transition of a baby from home to daycare possible…

Mine & Serdar Astarlioglu, Gainesville, FL

“When she is at ACA, it feels like Alice is at home at her second address. All the teachers at ACA are loving, caring, and comforting our children meticulously which makes ACA a big strong and unique family. When either I or my husband drops Alice to ACA, who is 16 months old now, she is usually in tears when it is the time to get separated from us, her mommy or daddy. At the instant we arrive to ACA and Alice starts crying, one of the teachers, either Ms. Gail, Katrina or Claret take her from our arms and let us go back to work. Regardless of the time we drop her in, these teachers always create time to get her filled in. They not only make us save some time but also comfort our baby instantly. These extremely dedicated teachers make our children happy and keep them healthy and safe and make our days pass by so much easier with a peace of mind. At the end of the day when we come back to pick her up she welcomes us with a big smile on her face and a warm hug with her tiny arms, yet runs back to her play area or one of her teachers, instead of showing us an interest to get back home.

At ACA Alice likes being socialized with all the other children and the teachers. She loves when Ms. Claret sings her Spanish songs, when Katrina teaches her sign language, when getting introduced to English by Ms. Gail and all the other teachers. She loves it when teachers take her outside to the playground when they introduce new games, plays, songs to her. She loves learning table manners from the teachers and sharing the environment with the other children. Whenever I have time to look after her at home, I still prefer to take her to ACA, since she is learning so much at ACA in addition to having lots of fun.

The cheerful and helpful attitude of administration, Ms. Pat and Ms. Heather makes the transition of a baby from home to daycare possible. With their help parents feel more comfortable in leaving their baby in the hands of a trustworthy second address. We feel very happy with the decision of bringing Alice to ACA due to the atmosphere which is consisted of love, care, safety, and dedication.”

After being involved in a Nationwide Pilot program to identify Daycare techniques, I quickly realized that ACA is already doing most of them…

Jayne & Bryon Moraski, Gainesville, FL

“I was involved in evaluating a nationwide pilot program that identified techniques that daycares can use to create “Supports for Parents” as a way to strengthen families. I quickly realized that many of the national best practices were already in place at A Child’s Academy: staff knows me by name (and asks me how I’m doing), staff is responsive and supportive when I have questions about my child’s development, staff has a curriculum that prepares children very well for kindergarten, and staff provides opportunities for parents to get together through holiday programs and in-class parties.

This just reinforced what I already felt about A Child’s Academy and why both of our daughters have been there since they were born: the parents and kids are treated with love and respect, in a warm and caring environment.”

Our daughter REFUSED to eat any vegetables before attending ACA, now she loves them and Asks for More…

Nate & Talea Ford, Gainesville, FL

“Our daughter hasn’t attended A Child’s Academy very long but already we’ve seen major difference in her excitement to learn. What we really love about ACA may seem like a very small matter but it’s really important to us, is the nutritional meals provided. Our daughter REFUSED to eat any vegetables before attending ACA. I tried different seasonings and dips to make it fun, but she still wouldn’t eat them. After hearing about the awesome cook, Ms. Roberta, and how she works magic in the kitchen, we decided to give it another try and present her with green beans. When I placed the plate in front in of her, her eyes lit up “Mmmm mommy! Ms. Roberta makes these”! She ate all of her green beans and asked for more. Now she is having her proper serving of vegetables with every meal. Thank you ACA and a special thank you to Ms. Roberta.”

When I first took my kids to ACA they were Very Shy, now they have such great Self Esteem…

Rachael & Bryan Engebretsen, Gainesville, FL

“I feel that when I take my children to A Child’s Academy they are going to be in a safe environment. I have three older children and they have gone to different preschools and I think that A child’s Academy is the best one that we have attended. They are very structured, organized and disciplined. My twins love to sing, so singing time is their favorite. They also love to color and draw. I have been so impressed with the fact that they know all the Presidents of the United States in order; I don’t know them! When my other kids finished their preschool years they still did not know how to spell their name or write it. The fact that my twins know how to write their name and are learning so much is a great benefit for their future in elementary school. When I first took my kids to A Child’s Academy they were very shy and now they have come out of their shell and are very sociable. They have better self esteem, even at such a young age. I feel that I have given them a great start on their education by attending this preschool. I was recommended A child’s Academy from my son’s kindergarten teacher and then found out that other friends were taking their kids there. I just wish that I would have investigated my options more with all my other children because I definitely would have chosen A Child’s Academy for them as well.”

I have peace of mind knowing Christopher is in good hands…

Kim & Chris Chircop, LaCrosse, FL

“What we love the most about A Child’s Academy is that the Staff is very warm and friendly – Christopher “CJ”, Chris, Logan and I feel very at home at ACA. I think Christopher likes just about everything – he likes playing outside with his friends and singing songs that he has learned at school. When I come to pick him up at the end of the day, he wants to show me around his classrooms. This is such a great feeling for us as parents, because I know he is having fun and enjoying his preschool experience. (Greatest Benefit of being enrolled at A Child’s Academy) My best friend, Miss Ana, was initially what attracted us to ACA. It was a great feeling knowing that my friend was there watching over my child during the day. But I soon realized that the other teachers there were also loving and caring. I have peace of mind knowing Christopher is in good hands. (What we would want new parents to know) Peace of mind is so important knowing your child is well taken care of during the day. You will have that at A Child’s Academy. Miss Roberta is so sweet, and an awesome cook . . . my son loves her cooking . . . more than his Momma’s!”

One of the best aspects of ACA is that it is not a run of the mill “daycare”; it truly lives up to the name A Child’s Academy…

Tim & Christi Crawford, Gainesville, FL

“As parents your top priority is your child’s health, safety and happiness, so picking a place to care for your child when you can’t is terrifying! Before enrolling our daughter, Helena, we researched the local “daycares” and visited the top two. Obviously, our choice was ACA and we have been very pleased with our decision. One of the best aspects of ACA is that it is not a run of the mill “daycare”; it truly lives up to the name A Child’s Academy. Our daughter is constantly amazing us, daily it seems, with all that she is learning at ACA. She actually gets excited when we pull into the ACA parking lot. ACA has been a blessing for our family, it is great place of learning and fun for our daughter and as parents we can leave her with the professional, caring and dedicated staff knowing she will be well taken care of in mind and body.”

Our youngest continues to excitedly ask each night before bed time what he will be doing when he wakes up…

Jamie Hope, Gainesville, FL

“Mrs. Pat, thanks for the opportunity to tell how our family has benefited from having our children attend A Child’s Academy. First, and fore most has been the consentience with our children teachers and school staff. Our children have been attending A Child’s Academy for almost three years. When they first started, both children had a tremendous amount of anxiety about the child care experience outside the home for the first time. The staff took great pride in helping both us as parents and both of the children through a very difficult time in our lives. The VPK program help our oldest prepare for kindergarten challenges and continues to build on his learning foundation. The youngest (even after three years) continues to ask each night before bed time what he will be doing when he wakes up and appears excited when we tell him he is going to school when he wakes up. Jamie”

The staff is meticulous about cleanliness…

Matt & Crystal Bowman, Micanopy, FL

“I am very pleased with A Child’s Academy. It was very important for me to find a safe, Christian, stimulating environment for my child and it has been that to her since enrollment 2008.

Safety is the first and most important attribute. The staff is meticulous about cleanliness in the VPK class– handwashing to prevent the spread of germs. They are also conscious about falls, proper check-in of adult visitors, and prevention of rough play among the 4 yr olds.

Equally important to me is the Christian environment found at A Child’s Academy. The school reinforces my family tradition of prayer, blessing food, diversity, and good citizenship/community service. I was impressed when my 4 yr old expressed interest in Haiti and Earthquake Relief.

A Child’s Academy has also helped my daughter get prepared for Kindergarden. In addition to the 3 R’s– Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic, she has learned the rules and etiquette of classroom academic settings from firm but caring teachers.

A Child’s Academy’s most powerful testimonial is from my daughter — “they are all my friends””

It gives me peace of mind having my child there, knowing that he is being watched by people who truly love children and aren’t just doing it for the paycheck…

L. Stephanie Shatila, Gainesville, FL

“All of the staff are friendly and genuinely care about each child. It gives me peace of mind having my child there, knowing that he is being watched by people who truly love children and aren’t just doing it for the paycheck. Steven loves playing with the other children and learning in the classroom. We talk about what he learns. He says that he knows “everything” about sharks & dolphins now. He learned about “stranger danger” recently. It’s amazing to me all that he has learned in such a short amount of time! I am so glad that the teachers give me a report of what they have covered in class and any issues that may arise. This allows me to reinforce what he is learning during the day when he gets home. A Child’s Academy is a place full of love, laughter and learning. I wish I had enrolled my child there earlier. He seems to have blossomed, thanks to the caring staff and environment for learning there.”

A child’s academy pursues holistic education. The curriculum focuses on not only academic development but also artistic thinking, feelings, and creativity as well…

Sunyoung Kim and Jaemo Jung, Gainesville, FL

“(What I like best about child care experience at A Child’s Academy) Celebrating holidays such as Easter day, President Day, St Patrick’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas day, etc gives children an opportunity to understand its spirituality and history. In addition, by embracing holidays regardless different religion and countries, children can understand world without prejudice. Vicky really enjoys painting/coloring with her classmates. It has great benefit because she can imagine everything through this time. In addition, she develops artistic potential by sharing ideas with friends. Coloring makes my daughter creative. I would like to say that A child’s academy pursues holistic education. The curriculum focuses on not only academic development but also artistic thinking, feelings, and creativity as well. My daughter can read, count, and write. Also, she learns how to share with friends and team up with them. The teachers do not teach directly, but rather the school environment encourages students. This is great benefit for my daughter to go to the school. I would like to tell new parents about school meal that the A child’s academy provides. Most parents might be concerned about nutrition for their child. The A child’s academy meal plan is well designed for children. A variety of food is provided every week based on recommended nutrition. I am sure that the new parents would be satisfied with this.”

My wife and I feel the greatest benefits for us have been allowing us to concentrate on work because we know Jennifer is in a good, safe, learning environment…

Bing Wang & Yang Zhang, Gainesville, FL

“What we like best about A Child’s Academy is how the teachers at ACA are so friendly. They know how to take care of kids. Our daughters favorite part of the day is playing at the playground with the huge fantasy castle. My wife and I feel the greatest benefits for us have been allowing us to concentrate on work because we know Jennifer is in a good, safe, learning environment. I would want new parents to know how safe A Child’s Academy is and how much their children will and enjoy it and learn.”
